With the fall right around the corner, it is time to spend those extra minutes where you are going to hunt. Here are some things to do up till September.
Hang the stand – if it is possible, hang your stand now. Get it in the place that you want it to be. Once in place take notice to the area that you have around you and time any limbs that may have grown over the off-season.
Triming limbs – It is a horrible feeling to have when you are in the tree stand, and that buck that you have been waiting for finally comes in and you cannot do anything because there are limbs, small trees, and undergrowth in the way. Take the time in the next month to clean up the area.
Hedge yourself – One of the ways that one can redirect the deer population to your stand is by putting some brush piles “hedges” to direct them to the area that you want. By doing this now, the change will not be so drastic to where they are scared of the brush piles, instead the deer will redirect the direction that they walk.
Minerals – Put minerals out! It is HOT out there and the deer need the minerals. This is a great time to put minerals out, so that when the deer find them, they will keep coming back due to their need for them. Right now their bodies are in high demand for minerals, this equates to a great time to put some mineral plots out in your hunting area to start drawing them in.
Take the time to get into the sport of Hunting. There is so much to learn each and every season to which your hunting spot can become better and better as the years pass by, that is if you put the TIME INTO IT!
